RINJ continue to campaign against 'Vile Kyle' Sandilands, and good on them I say. Not only am I personally sick of Kyle's baby tantrums and general obnoxiousness, I regard him as one of the ongoing symptoms of Australia's culture of turning arseholes into victims - "Why are you all picking on me all the time? It's not fair! All I said was she was a fat bitch that I was going to hunt down! WAAAAHHH!!"
Now his vacuous and equally dull counterpart 'Jackie O' has added her own gaffe, presumably so she doesn't feel left out. You can read about it here but in a nutshell, Jackie O said she wanted to change her middle name - Ellen - because it "sounds a bit lez".
Some could see it as a bit of a storm in a teacup, but I generally thought people grew out of that whole 'gay panic - Uggghh!! What if someone thinks I'm a poof/lesbo!' thing after primary school. If Jackie O was, say 8 or 10, it might be forgiveable. You could send her to the naughty corner for ten minutes and send her to bed without pudding. Unfortunately, reliable sources tell me she is a full-grown, voting, tax-paying adult, which quite frankly took me by surprise.
I too was surprised. Normally, Australian radio celebrities don't pay taxes.
