For anyone who saw the Herald Sun's coverage of Occupy Melbourne way back at the start and more to the point remembers the space they gave for Lord Mayor Fugly Oompa-Loompa Robert Doyle to give his psychotic anti-protest tirade, then this should have your genitals twisting themselves in painful contortions of outrage.

The photo gallery celebrates the nature of protest, it's vital role in the transformation of global culture over the past year, and is in reference to Time Magazine's nomination of 'The Protestor' as person of the year.

So why should your genitals be writhing in seething hatred I hear you ask?

Because it's so damned fucking hypocritical it could make me vomit up my own colon.

Because this is the fucking Herald Sun, shameless pro-right, Murdoch-owned, police-PR rag. So no, these jackholes DO NOT get to celebrate protest. The Herald Sun has always framed almost any protest as 'violent ferals throwing themselves belligerently at innocent police batons', and NOW they lovingly garland images of unrest with stirring quotes about freedom?

You celebrate the sheep being led to slaughter and then gustily have lamb chops for tea. You are paragons of support for brutality and state-sanctioned fuckery. So, you know what? Go on, you fucking hypocrites, have a gallery of protesters and call them all terrorists or 'professional protestors'. When an image blatantly shows a riot gear-clad pig laying the boot in to some poor bastard, add a caption of 'protestors clash with police', just DON'T pretend to laud or support protest because you never, ever fucking do.

It's far too fucking late in the day for this rag to pretend to ethical, or even balanced coverage, and it looks shamelessly hypocritical when they do.
