There's a flurry of crazy activity going on in the world today.
First, AllOut have announced that the Russians are voting on a bill that would make it ILLEGAL to talk about or refer to ANYTHING to do with LGBT matters. This is going down in less than 24 hours. More here.
In better news for the LGBTI/Q crowd - Prop 8 in California has been ruled as illegal and unconstitutional. Gay marriage is back as legal in California, so get those wedding plans back off hold Californians! And for anyone still confused about same-sex marriage, maybe this handy chart will explain it for you.
For anyone who thought my pieces on Martin Ferguson spying on environmental protestors were wild flights of fancy - it's been confirmed in Parliament during Question Time that surveillance does go on, with fluid liaising between private industry, private surveillance, the AFP and state and federal ministers and MP's. So, stick that up yer jaxie.
Also a piece on Canadian programmer Saeed Malekpour here has been update to show that (possibly another?) appeal has been lost. He will now face the death sentence in Iran over trumped up, religiously motivated charges, whose 'evidence' was procured through torture.
