What's this about?

Hi and welcome to my blog.

Torrents of Scorn is a blog devoted to the discussion, dissection, analysis and criticism of politics. Much of it will focus on Australian events, but some global phenomena get a decent kicking as well.

Before we get knee-deep into the madness, I would like to point out one important thing - I'm progressive politically. I'm not conservative. I am one of those people Andrew Bolt would call a 'Brunswick latté-sipping leftie', but for some small, important differences;

1) I don't live in Brunswick
2) I can't stand lattés
3) I consider myself broadly progressive rather than a strict 'leftie'.

So there you have. Go on and get stuck in sunshine.
