A few quick notes: RINJ about to make a major announcement, $16 trillion mystery dollars, Bloomberg and the Occupiers, and Slavery in Australia.

Rape is no Joke on Facebook
The RINJ campaign has lately announced it has a major press release it is about to unveil, which may concern either the legal ramifications of Facebook's refusal to take down the pro-rape pages, or perhaps the real-world effects of what they're doing. Hopefully this will be enough of an atom bomb that Facebook can't ignore it.

$16 trillion in bankster dough
If you've been following OWS, you know that many Americans have serious concerns about the state of the nation's financial policies. Which is why, in a rare one-off audit by the US Government Accountability Office (GAO, an organisation worth their weight in gold), it was discovered that the US Federal Reserve had loaned out - in secret and with no governmental oversight - $16 trillion dollars in bailout funds worldwide. Bernie Sanders, Vermont State Senator and the man who got the audit rolling, discusses it here

Upping the ante
If it hasn't happened already, Mayor Bloomberg of New York is shortly about to have the Occupy Wall Street protestors rounded up and moved on. Not only are the protestors well within their legal rights to do what they're doing, this action may seriously escalate the protests. Time will tell how this progresses.

Slavery In Australia
Watching the SBS news the other night, a piece came on about a government program to end slavery and labour exploitation in Australia. This came hot on the heels of another piece I'd seen about sex slavery in Australia. There's not much I can say about this other than I'm deeply ashamed of my country right now. It seems inconceivable that the country that makes such a big deal of championing the underdog, and the motto of the 'fair go' could do such things. And yet, the same tactics of passport holding, under-paying or non-paying, geographical isolation, limited or barred contact with friends or family, violence, etc that have been seen else where are also practiced here. One organisation seems to be trying to raise awareness and also advocate rights of migrant workers. They can be found here
